Obituary: 5/30/1944 - George Harvey - Funeral services for George B. Harvey, 84, who died yesterday morning at the home of his son, Ed Harvey, 464 Colton Street, following a brief illness, were to be conducted today at 5 o'clock at the home with the Rev. J. S. Cobb officiating. Burial was to be in Sunset Memorial Park. Active pallbearers were to be J. W. Hudson, H. E. Wyatt, D. R. Bogan, C. H. Pearson, A. W. Robertson and J. C. Painter. A native of Buncombe County, N.C., Mr. Harvey was a farmer. He was the son of John and Caroline Fannon Harvey, both of North Carolina. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stelly Harvey and the following sons and daughters: Ed Harvey, B. H. Harvey of Spartanburg; Garland Harvey of Greer; Pvt. John Harvey, U. S. Army, stationed at Florence; Mrs. Lola Nash of Wellford, Mrs. Carrie Buchanan and Mrs. Ethel Emmett, both of Gastonia, N.C. and Mrs. Effie Beattie of Spartanburg; also 25 grandchildren.
